About LATGA-A  

LATGA-A collectively manages the following economic rights of authors

LATGA-A is a collective copyright management association established by Lithuanian authors and creative unions back in 1990. LATGA-A is a non-governmental non-profit organisation which collectively manages the rights of copyright holders, collects and distributes royalties and remuneration for exploitation of works. LATGA-A aims at coordinating the activities of association members, ensuring that the works of Lithuanian and foreign authors are exploited as widely as possible and preventing copyright infringements.

 

LATGA-A is a member of CISAC as of 1992. The membership in CISAC allowed LATGA-A to conclude reciprocal representation agreements with foreign copyright societies. On the basis of the network of over 130 representation agreements LATGA-A represents the interests of authors of 60 different foreign states in Lithuania.

 

 

LATGA-A collectively manages the following economic rights of authors

 

• public performance, communication to the public and rental of music works with or without lyrics;
• reproduction of music works with or without lyrics in sound or audiovisual recordings;
• public performance (live) and broadcasting of literary works;
• reproduction in sound or audiovisual recordings of literary works;
• public performance, communication to the public and right of rental of audiovisual works;
• public performance (live) and communication to the public of drama and music-drama works;
• reproduction, communication to the public, public display and right or rental of visual art works.

 

 

LATGA-A also manages the right of authors to receive remuneration for

 

• Private copying - by distributing to authors the remuneration collected for private copying of works;
• Reprographic reproduction - by collecting and distributing remuneration for reprographic reproduction of works;
• Public lending - by distributing the remuneration assigned from the state budget for public lending in libraries of books and other publications.
